The painting process – from start to finish – should be clean and completed with as little disruption as possible. While any project can take more steps or less steps, these are the basics of how we do things.

• Show up promptly and (if possible) establish a space that is out of the way to keep some of our supplies

• Move as much as possible from the area(s) to be painted

• Protect, mask off, and cover any items and spaces not to be painted – floors, furniture, countertops, etc.

• Vacuum any dust and clean anything that would prevent adhesion of paint to surfaces to be painted

• Perform any necessary preparation – patch, sand, prime, fill nail holes, caulk, remove outlet covers and light fixtures, etc.

• Apply the appropriate number of coats to achieve desired result

• Remove masking and drop cloths

• Clean up any dirt and dust caused by the painting process and get rid of all our trash

• Replace anything we removed from the space
